Year 7 Boys Football - Season Report

Very well done to the Year 7 boys seven-a-side football team who became City Champions recently.

Having qualified for the finals, they defeated Ellis Guilford School 1-0, NUSA 2-1 and Fernwood 2-0.

Seven-a-side team

Eleven-a-Side

Well done, also, to the boys in the full 11-a-side squad who performed very well over the season. The highlight, apart from the 7-a-side, was reaching the last 64 of the National Cup, only to be narrowly beaten 2-1 by John Port School (Derby). Progress was also made in the County Cup; they reached the last 4 with wins over Retford Oaks, Kimberley and Nottingham Academy and Bluecoat (Aspley) schools. Unfortunately, they lost in the semi-final against a strong Bluecoat (Wollaton).

It was a good season overall with 9 wins and 3 losses. Mr Parr enjoyed taking the team, a very pleasant group, never short of a thank you and a please. The team should now look forward to look forward to playing in 11-a-side competitions next year (and might want to do some extra sessions over the summer in order to make sure they are fit enough to get in the team!)

Well done and thank you.
