National Handball Finals
Over the weekend of the 9th and 10th of June, Trinity U13 Boys and U15 Boys represented the East Midlands in the prestigious Schools Handball National Finals.
The Finals weekend was held at Worcester Arena, the home England Handball, and was attended by representatives from all nine regions: North East, North West, East Midlands, West Midlands, East, West, South East, South West, and London.
The competition was fierce and the standard extremely high. Both Trinity teams were very courageous and continued to demonstrate the hard work which earned them their place. Both teams were faced with schools with considerable pedigree, including previous winners such as Sale Grammar School, Pates Grammar School and Christ’s College London.
The U15 Boys were previously unbeaten in the competition but were somewhat humbled by the competition, picking up Wins: 1, Draws: 1, Losses: 4 to finish in 6th position overall.
The U13 Boys had a very successful day with Wins: 3, Losses: 3, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal by a single point to leave them in 4th overall.
It was a fantastic weekend and we are very proud of all our students who have represented Trinity Handball over the course of the season. Having not one but two teams who have placed 6th and 4th overall nationally is simply the icing on the cake. It's a huge achievement and a fantastic platform on which to build. Well done!
This is a great example of what pupils can achieve when they make a commitment, train hard and aim high.
