The Midnight Truce
Steve Stickley of Footprints Theatre treated Trinity's Year 9 pupils to a superb performance of the memorable play "The Midnight Truce" as part of their studies of the First World War.
In a lively and engaging performance, Mr Stickley told the story of British soldiers from Nottingham and German soldiers in the events leading up to the Christmas Truce of 1914. As well as teaching the pupils about an important moment in the First World War, the play also invited them to think about the importance of working towards a lasting peace in the world today.
The performance has helped to inspire our students in their studies of the First World War and encouraged them to think anew on our Advent topic of peace.
Thank you to The Trinity Association for raising the funds to allow our pupils to experience this unforgettable and informative performance. Thank you, also, to the Year 9 pupils for their enthusiasm, superb behaviour and engagement with the performance, and to Mr Stickley for joining us for this wonderful and entertaining piece.
