Year 11 Briars Retreat
A group of Year 11 pupils went to the Briars residential centre in Crich, Derbyshire from 28th to 30th January.
The centre team led the group on the theme of 'Journeys' and encouraged them to think about where they are now in their journey through life and where they want to get to.
Through a mixture of games, conversations, pupil-led prayer, Mass, artwork and workshops, some thought-provoking questions were posed and pupils shared their insight, concerns and ways forward.
Lots of pupils commented on how much they enjoyed their retreat and wanted to return again soon. One common point raised was how they got to know some of their peers from school whom they didn't know very well and would now regard as friends.
Thank you to Naomi and the team, and to Fr Jonathon Cotton who led an intimate and engaging celebration of Mass. We hope to see you all next year!
We were shown a representation of the crossroads we are at in Year 11 in order to encourage us to seriously think about what we are going to do in the next stage of life, as well as to encourage us to think of the now as much as the future.
