Duke of Edinburgh's Award
Duke of Edinburgh Gold Practice
In May, ten Year 12 students completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award practice expedition in the Lake District.
The two groups started at Pooley Bridge and ended at Elterwater near Ambleside. The expedition took four days and included lots of mountains and a distance of around 75km. They stayed at two campsites and a wild camp part way up one of the mountains.
The weather was wonderful and sunny for the first two days, with lots of suncream used. The second two days were overcast but we managed to get home without getting wet.
All the participants performed well and move on to do their assessment in July.
